Wildcard and Free Hit planner
The best fifteen players for your budget, picked from our five-gameweek projections and kept inside FPL's squad rules. Type in the players you want and it builds the rest around them, or swap one player at a time and see which replacement adds the most.
How it picks
Every player gets a projection for each of the next five gameweeks from the same model that runs the rest of the site. The planner then searches for the fifteen that add up to the most points for the eleven you would actually start, with the best of them counted twice as captain. Bench players count for a small share, because they only score when someone in front of them does not play.
Wildcard uses the five-gameweek total, so it favours players you can keep. Free Hit uses the next gameweek only, since your squad goes back to normal afterwards and nothing after that week matters.
Swapping one player
Press Swap on anyone in the squad and you get every player in that position ranked by what he would add to the squad as it stands. The other fourteen stay put, so the number next to each name is the straight answer to “who is the best replacement for him?” Players you cannot afford, or whose club already has three in the squad, are greyed out with the reason.
The player you bring in is locked and the one you take out is left out, so pressing Optimize squad afterwards builds around your choices instead of undoing them. Reset clears every lock and exclusion and goes back to the best squad with no restrictions. If you have looked up your team on My Team, Start from my squad loads it here, and swapping becomes a way to plan transfers.
What it does not know
It uses current prices, not your selling prices, which can be lower if players have risen since you bought them. It leaves out anyone under a 75% chance of playing unless you lock them in. And it keeps one eleven for all five weeks, when in practice you would move the armband and the bench around, so the real ceiling is a little higher than the number it shows.
It is a projection, not a promise. Every week the model's numbers are locked before the deadline and scored afterwards on the scorecard page, so you can see how far to trust them. For how fixtures change the picture over this stretch, see the fixture run from GW6 to GW10.
